Resounding a united Baltic Sea region: World-renowned conductor Kristjan Järvi at the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdansk

The Sound of an united Baltic Sea region in Gdansk: In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the German unification on Sunday, 20 September 2015 at 6 pm, the Baltic Sea Youth Philharmonic, an orchestra assembling highly talented music students from all countries surrounding the Baltic Sea will bring its sound to the Polish Baltic Philharmonic. Under the baton of its Founding Conductor and Music Director Kristjan Järvi the audience will experience a musical voyage from Poland, to Finland, Germany and Latvia with works of art from Woijciech Kilar, Ludwig van Beethoven and Imants Kalniņš. A special highlight is the ‘GREEN’ piano concert written by the Finnish composer Severi Pyysalo. It will be premiered one day before at the opening of the Usedom Music Festival at the Polish-German island of Usedom and will resound for the second time in Gdansk. The Finnish pianist Pauli Kari will adopt the challenging piano part. The concert is preceded by a ceremonial act including speeches by German and Polish government representatives to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the German unification.
